I guess probably any laptop with

-A minimum of 10 GB disk space for the Kali Linux install.
-For i386 and amd64 architectures, a minimum of 512MB RAM.
-CD-DVD Drive / USB boot support

I currently use a Lenovo Ideapad S 400 or S410(sorry i don't remember the exact model) and it worked fine and also, the network card was able to be set to monitoring mode without any additional drivers.

edit: I recommend you to also suggest a price range for the laptop you are willing to pay for...

I had asked this Question many times before.
I never got a good answer because there really isn't one.
Any laptop that can run Kali or Parrot will work.
I picked up a netbook from the pawn shop - $80 will run Kali or Parrot.

While the unit appeared to work for capturing data I still prefer to used something I know has been tested and proven to work.

So while, here again, I'm not giving a specific answer to your question, just like I never got one, the answer really boils down to:

1 - How much are you willing to spend.
2 - Do your homework and make sure your wifi adapter is suitable for what you want to do.
Good Luck

I just tend to partition KaliLinux onto a LiveUSB, that way I can plug it into any computer and run it.

But spec wise, this is from docs.kali.org:

  • A minimum of 10 GB disk space for the Kali Linux install.
  • For i386 and amd64 architectures, a minimum of 512MB RAM.
  • CD-DVD Drive / USB boot support
